2026 SGF Scholarships now open
The Sarah Gibson Foundation’s mission is to aid in the development of the next generation of creative musicians. Students who are passionate about newly created music and are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in music are eligible to apply for an SGF Scholarship.
Application Requirements
2 or 3 Work Samples
For Composers: Upload or provide links to audio/video recordings of your compositions (with scores, if applicable). Any style/genre/medium is welcome.
For Performers: Upload or provide links to audio/video recordings of your performances of compositions written in the last 50 years. Improvisations are welcome.
For Composer/Performers: Any combination of the above is welcome.
CV / Resume
Upload a pdf of your current CV/Resume.
Include information on your degree program and expected year of graduation.
Written Statements
Respond to each of the following prompts with a written statement (not to exceed 250 words for each prompt.)
Prompt 1: What is a piece of music from the last 50 years that has impacted you and why?
Prompt 2: How would you describe your current contributions to the music community and what are some of your long-term goals within it?
